Ottawa, Canada – The National Arts Centre will be the place to be on Canada Day, offering a full slate of free family-friendly concerts and activities on Monday, July 1.  This year, the NAC celebrates with a song-cycle show specially created for the War of 1812 Bicentennial from JUNO Award-nominated Mike Ford; a concert by the Central Band of the Canadian Forces; and Unisong with guest conductor Victoria Meredith.

The day of celebration culminates with a special evening concert in the NAC Theatre, as the National Arts Centre Orchestra, conducted by Alain Trudel, are joined by multi JUNO and Gemini Award nominated singer-songwriter Sarah Slean

“As a fiercely proud Canadian, I am incredibly honoured and excited to be performing in the capital on Canada Day!  To sing with the extraordinary musicians of the NAC Orchestra under the masterful baton of Alain Trudel will be a tremendous artistic thrill for me,” said Ms Slean. “This is going to be one of those "career-highlight" moments when I pinch myself and think - thank you lucky stars, MERCI CHER CANADA!”

More exciting events will be announced in the coming weeks; visit the NAC website for details.
